Pastoral Council:
This group seeks to promote a dialogue between the laity and priest and to foster greater ability to reach more clearly decisions regarding spiritual and organizational matters of the local parish. This group is advisory in nature but also take on a variety of tasks in committee work. The group meets monthly through the months of September and June.

St. Rose of Lima Women's Club:
Fellowship, Service to the Parish, Service to the Community, Encouraging Spirituality among women of the parish.

The Ministry of Altar Care:
No experience is necessary. A group of parishioners come together Saturday mornings to assist with preparing the altar for the weekend Celebration of the Eucharist.

Altar Servers:
Being an altar server offers a unique opportunity for the boys and girls of our parish to become an active part of the Liturgy of the Eucharist and other liturgical celebrations. Boys and girls from the fifth grade on up who attend Mass and CCD regularly are eligible for this serve to the Church. Periodic classes are scheduled for training and announced in the bulletin.

Lector:
Lectors are parish women or men who communicate God's Word by doing the readings at Mass. The lector should be a good reader who is able to do so with enthusiasm and clarity. Training programs are scheduled and lectors are assigned through a regularly published schedule.

Ushers:
An usher is a minister of hospitality. They not only should be welcoming, but also seat people, being attentive to their needs in giving directions to the restrooms or being available in emergency situations, take up the collection and handing out bulletins after Mass.. Meetings are rarely held and any adult can join.

Hospitality Ministry:
This ministry would set up for receptions at the parish such as funeral receptions.

Community Garden:
The vegetable garden by the parking lot has provided thousands of pounds of fresh tomatoes, cucmbers, and squash for the Northboro Food Pantry. Parishioners of all ages take turns tending the garden through the growing season.

Clerical Volunteers:
Could you give occasional help in the Parish Office or Religious Education Office? Answering phones, help with bulk mailings.

Parish Outreach:

  • Reaching out in time of need: at the time of a death in a family, to those in need of a friendly visit, to the elderly in need of assistance, to the homebound, to those who are ill at home or in the hospital or those in need of transportation.
  • Meals to the homeless Travelodge residents: The churches of Northborough, synagogue of Westboro and some civic organizations provide meals to the homeless residents at the Travelodge, Monday - Friday. Call the office to be put on the list of helpers.
  • Community Meal Program of Northborough: This program began in January 1996 and provides a meal each Wednesday evening. at Trinity Church, Main St., Northborough. The churches of Northborough, synagogue of Westboro and some civic organizations provide the weekly meal. St. Rose serves the meal approximately once every 10 weeks. This meal is available to anyone, whether financially in need or just would like to get out to visit others.

Music Ministry:
"One who sings, prays twice." Use your gifts to enhance our parish liturgy. Cantor: Someone with a reasonably good voice who is able to learn to sing in front of a congregation. Choir: People who like to sing and will join with others to sing for major church holydays and other important events. Musicians: People who play an instrument and are willing to play with others for major feasts and events.

Homebound Ministry Please:
Call the parish office if you or a member of your family is hospitalized or confined to home because of illness. A member of the parish staff or a Eucharistic Minister will be happy to visit and bring communion.

Social Concerns Ministry for Justice and Peace
Following in the tradition of Catholic Social Teaching and living the gospel message of Jesus, we work on Justice and Peace issues thru education, legislative actions and ad hoc activities.
